Rink Temperatures

To maintain the three ice surfaces at the West Central Events Centre (WCEC), our staff regulates the temperature to keep the ice surfaces at the safest and highest quality possible for our patrons.

The average arena temperature ranges from 9 to 14 C. We maintain the temperature within this range at the WCEC. Temperature fluctuations are usually due to the changing ambient temperature throughout the arena.

We ask that patrons do not adjust or tamper with the thermostats in the arena, as this requires staff to lower the temperature below the average range to bring the temperature back to normal. The thermostats are to be accessed by WCEC staff only - please contact the on-call staff (posted in the WCEC lobby) if you have any questions or concerns. For your comfort in the stands, please remember to dress appropriately in warm clothing.
