Replacement of 172 metres of water main pipe on 2nd Avenue West was completed on Thursday, October 19.

Council approved the emergency water main work at a Special Meeting of Council held Monday, October 2, as a result of line breaks that occurred in late September due to corroded and aging pipe. The project involved replacement of 172 metres of water main pipe between 5th Street West and 6th Street West, including five valves and two water hydrants. Council authorized a budget not to exceed $100,000 for the project.

The project area has been resurfaced with gravel cover and will be included among other planned road reconstruction and paving work in the 2018 Budget. Council is scheduled to approve the 2018 Budget in principle before the end of the year.
