Public Works has successfully repaired the 2nd Street East water leak that began on Monday, December 11. Although the work was expected to cause disruption to several residents, once the crew was able to isolate the area, disruption impacted only the West Central Events Centre and one residence along 2nd Avenue East.

A  Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory is now in place for the West Central Events Centre and #301 2nd Avenue East until water quality tests are processed and received from Saskatchewan Environment.  While the Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory is not mandatory, it is for safety assurance that affected home owners are advised to boil all water for at least one (1) minute prior to consuming.

Public Works is responding to a water leak on 2nd Street East that began on Monday, December 11. In order to assist with the repair and to reduce consumption being drawn from the water tower, residents are asked to conserve water as much as possible. This includes refraining from running appliances such as dishwashers and laundry machines, and other non-essential uses, as much as possible until the repair is complete. The Industrial Area vending station will also be turned off until the water leak is repaired.

Some addresses may have experienced water service disruptions already, while additional residents may be impacted as crews troubleshoot the issue. The Town will issue door knockers as soon as possible to all impacted addresses. This may extend to the 300 block of 2nd Ave East, Railway Avenue, and Overlord Crescent, in addition to the following addresses:

#219 and #301  2nd Avenue East

#100, 102, 104, 106, 108, 110 2nd Street East

#228 and 229 1st Avenue East

#218 Railway Ave East

Motorists are also asked to avoid the intersection of 2nd Ave E and 2nd St E if possible until work is complete.

Once water service is restored, affected addresses will be under a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory until further notice.
