In response to increased concerns regarding high water bills, the Town of Kindersley is releasing a summary of the bills issued for the months of March, April, and May 2016. As indicated in the summaries, average quarterly water bills in Kindersley fall under $400 for a three-month period.

Concerns regarding water meters and high water bills have, and continue to be, investigated upon request of residents.

The Town of Kindersley has arranged for its water meter supplier, Neptune Technologies, to conduct individual consultations with customers.

Neptune is scheduled to come the last week in June.  Residents who would like to have Neptune investigate their water meter concerns are invited to book an appointment in advance.

Please contact the Town of Kindersley at 306.463.2675 to secure your appointment.

A note on leak notifications:

A leak notification is issued when continuous water movement has been recorded at some point during the billing period, which may indicate a leak. When this continuous water movement has been recorded, a notification is used on the water bill.

High water bill causes (actual cases found upon investigation):

  • Leaks in the irrigation system – due to dry weather, a continuous leak from underground sprinklers went undetected
  • Water heaters were malfunctioning and began to leak water continuously
  • Water softeners were found to be faulty and ran water continuously
  • Running toilet(s) and leaks in valves that were not visible
  • Additional guests over the holidays and additional adults living in the home full-time
