Kindersley's 2017 road infrastructure work is underway beginning with new asphalt paving on 6th Avenue West, in addition to patchwork where recent sidewalk construction is now complete.
It is anticipated that re-paving of 12th Avenue (the service road north of Highway 7) will begin as early as Monday, July 24. Thank you in advance to businesses and residents for your patience as this work gets underway. Some temporary lane closures will be required and traffic control personnel will be on scene to assist in traffic flow in these areas. We will endeavour to minimize the impact to 12th Avenue business operations as much as possible.
Motorists are asked to please observe all traffic safety signs and reduce your speed if needing to travel along the service road while work is underway.

G & C Asphalt was contracted to complete asphalt paving this year for the amount of $831,975.35 plus applicable taxes. Huseini Concrete & Paving completed the 2017 sidewalk work at a cost of $573,679.28 plus applicable taxes.
The Town’s Long-term Infrastructure Plan assesses the condition of all road surfaces, rating such components as road cracking, ruts, and curb and gutter safety on a scale of poor to good. The condition of adjoining infrastructure such as water, stormwater and sanitary sewer pipes and valves is also factored into the projected work plan. The Town of Kindersley has a total of 75 kilometres of paved road surface.
Private property including parking lots and mobile home estates is the responsibility of the property or landowner to repair and maintain the roads. The Ministry of Highways is responsible for paving the approaches off of Highway 7 and 21.
2017 sidewalk work also included the construction of wheelchair access ramps and several portions of sidewalk.
