The Town of Kindersley is recognizing National Waste Reduction Week from October 16-22, 2017.

Waste reduction is key to conserving the world's resources and landfill space, and to reducing our debt to future generations. Therefore, Council of the Town of Kindersley urges residents to promote this year's theme, "Too Good to Waste," by taking on new efforts to reduce, reuse, recycle, and compost; by choosing sustainable and responsible consumption, and environmentally responsible products and services; and by promoting actions that divert more waste from disposal and conserve natural resources.

We are inviting participants in two local initiatives this week:

3 R's Contest (Reuse, Recycle, and Repurpose)

Click on the image above or visit the Town of Kindersley's Facebook page to post your favourite reuse/repurpose project. If your project photo gets the most likes,  you could win a gift certificate from Kindersley Castle Building Centre toward your next repurpose project.

Join our Freecycle Campaign!

Instead of tossing that thing you no longer want, give it away to someone else.

How to participate:

  1. Click on the Freecycle image below or visit the Town of Kindersley's Facebook page
  2. Post your FREE item
  3. You can also post your Freecycle items at westcentralonline.com and kindersleysocial.ca on their participating classifieds.
  4. Start your own local group at www.freecycle.org.
