Notice to Amend Zoning Bylaw

Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Kindersley, pursuant to Section 207 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, intends to consider Bylaw 16-17, which amends Bylaw 04-14, known as the Zoning Bylaw of the Town of Kindersley.

The proposed Bylaw Amendment would create the following new definition for Railways and ancillary railway functions

“Railways and ancillary railway functions:  an area of land where trains are stored, switched, loaded or unloaded and includes sites and facilities used to transfer commodities, goods, or products from one mode of transportation to another including related offices and storage facilities.”

The reason for the Bylaw Amendment is to provide more clarity in the bylaw and facilitate development in the RW – Railway Industrial District, including the unloading and transfer of goods from trains.

The proposed Bylaw Amendment may be inspected by any interested person(s) at the Town Administration Office, 106 - 5th Avenue East, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, except on Statutory Holidays. Copies of this Notice and the Bylaw with First Reading will be available and may be obtained at the Town Administration Office for a fee of one dollar ($1.00).

Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 7:05 pm in the Council Chambers of the Town Administration Office to hear any person or group that wants to comment on the proposed bylaw. Council will also consider written comments received at the hearing (or delivered to the undersigned at the municipal office before the hearing).

Dated at Kindersley, Saskatchewan this 3rd day of January, 2018.
