Kindersley property owners who have experienced uninsured damage to their properties this summer as a result of excessive wind and rain may be eligible for provincial funding.

The Town of Kindersley is working with insurance providers and brokers to determine if the community qualifies for funding assistance through the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP).

Please contact your insurance provider or broker immediately if your property has sustained any weather-related damage so that this information may be passed on to the Town of Kindersley for the application.

"In order to be accepted, we need to determine how many homeowners were affected in order to complete the application," said Acting Mayor Shaun Henry. "To qualify, the damage to your home must be uninsurable and your insurance company must provide documentation stating as such. The second part of the criteria is that the damage must have been caused by an event. While we don’t have one particular event, we believe we can still apply for the assistance as an accumulation of events triggering this disaster."

A Special Meeting of Council is scheduled for August 24 at 5:00 pm to discuss the PDAP Application. Learn more about the PDAP here: www.saskatchewan.ca/residents/environment-public-health-and-safety/provincial-disaster-assistance-program.
