Kindersley Approved for Disaster Assistance After July 10 Storm
The Town of Kindersley has received approval under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) to be designated as an eligible assistance area for eligible loss and damages to public and/or private property due to heavy rain and plow winds on July 10, 2018.
All inquiries about PDAP applications can be directed to the PDAP toll-free line at 1-800-632-4033. PDAP will contact applicants directly to confirm whether they quality for the program.
Council of the Town of Kindersley resolved on July 16, 2018 to make application to the Ministry of Government Relations under the PDAP program after an estimated 32 mm (1.26 in.) of heavy rainfall was experienced in Kindersley on July 10, along with winds gusting upwards of 74 km per hour.
PDAP applications forms are available below or at the Kindersley Administration Office. Residents are asked to contact their insurance providers first to start a claim.
Please remember the following tips:
- PDAP is not a substitute for private insurance.
- PDAP does not provide full compensation for losses.
- PDAP provides assistance to return property to its pre-disaster condition only.
If you have private insurance, your insurer must provide a letter to PDAP explaining which of your damages are and are not covered by your policy.

There is a one-year deadline from the date of the disaster to complete all cleanup, repairs, restorations and replacements. Extensions to the one-year deadline may be requested in writing and may be permitted if there are reasonable grounds for delay.
