Nineteen Kindersley organizations will benefit from funding this year as the Town of Kindersley distributes its annual Kindersley Community Initiatives Program (KCIP) grant. A total of $45,154 will be distributed in 2016. Funding for KCIP is provided by Saskatchewan Lotteries and is intended to encourage involvement in recreation, culture, and sports activities by addressing the needs of local residents.

The following projects and organizations will receive KCIP funding in 2016:

  • Kindersley Antique Threshing Club  – Seeding and Threshing Demonstration Event ($2,487)

  • Kindersley and District Arts Council –  Performing artist fees and advertising ($3,000)

  • Kindersley Players – Dinner Theatre ($1,600)

  • Town of Kindersley Recreation  – Petey Program during school PD days ($1,400)

  • Coleman Cres. Park Committee – Playground and fitness equipment ($5,000)

  • Kindersley Skating Club – Spring and Fall Skating Schools ($1,800)

  • Kindersley and District Music Festival – Adjudication and venue rental ($1,000)

  • Kindersley Playschool – Smartboard and activity materials ($1,320)

  • Kindersley Minor Hockey – Ice rental (Youth Rec, Girl Time and Goalie Skill Development) ($1,680)

  • Playcare – Learning to Grow Program (gardening, healthy eating) ($1,500)

  • NRC Community Management Inc. – Lighting and sound equipment for auditorium upgrade ($5,000)

  • West Central Abilities Inc. – Artportunity Program ($5,000)

  • 365 Air Cadet Sponsoring Committee – Venue rental and training materials ($1,587)

  • Kobra Football Parents Association – New helmets ($1,280)

  • Kindersley Senior Raiders – Saskatchewan Senior Mens Baseball Championships ($400)

  • Kindersley Youth Committee – Movie in the Park ($3,000)

  • Kindersley Roller Derby Association – Junior Skills Camp ($1,300)

  • Town of Kindersley – Canada Day Fireworks ($5,000)

  • Kindersley Minor Ball – Equipment ($1,800)
