Resident Chris Douglas addressed Council to request cost sharing with the Town for the installation of a second water line to a newly constructed residential duplex.

Council directed Administration to work with the Province of Saskatchewan and local insurance brokers to whom uninsurable property damage claims have been submitted due to recent rainfall in order to determine the Town of Kindersley's eligibility to be designated as an assistance area under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP).

Council directed Administration to waive the $40 Temporary Road Closure Permit fee for the Goose Festival parade.

Council approved the payment of invoices related to renovations at the Norman Ritchie Community Centre to be paid from funds currently held in the Recreation Reserve Fund to a maximum of $25,365.43, which represents the unused portion of funds from the August 2013 basement flood insurance claim.

Administration was directed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the K-Town Skyscrapers RC Club for the club’s continued operation on Town-owned property south of Golfview Trailer Court. Once the memorandum is finalized, the Club will have consent to place a shipping container and fabric-covered garage on the property to use as storage.

Administration was also directed to release a Request for Proposals for the Norman Ritchie Community Centre roof replacement project.

Council directed Administration to draft an agreement with G&G Goodheart Electric Ltd. to allow for the continued placement of signs on Town-owned land at the corner of McEwen Drive and West Road in Brookhollow Estates, which are currently in violation of the Zoning Bylaw and promote private residential building. The agreement is to be presented to Council at its next meeting, and permission is to be reviewed annually with regard to validity specific to any costs related to the billboard sign.

Two bylaws were given first reading by Council:
•    Bylaw 08-16, which amends the Zoning Bylaw 04-14; and
•    Bylaw 14-16, which amends the Official Community Plan.
Notices will be published for public hearings on September 12, 2016 at 7:00 pm after which second and third readings will be given to each bylaw.

In recognition of the need for further research and support for neuromuscular disorders, Council proclaimed the month of September 2016 as Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month in Kindersley.

Council also proclaimed September 2016 as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in acknowledgement of the benefits of advanced testing for men over the age of 40.
