Council approved funding for 16 projects through the Community Grant program, totaling $10,107.25. The grant, which was established by Council in 2013, received its highest intake of applications this year, and will result in the full distribution of the $15,000 budgeted in 2016 for the program. In recognition of Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017, Council also resolved that special consideration and priority be given to 2017 Community Grant applicants seeking funding for events or projects celebrating this national milestone.

Council directed the Acting Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to enter into a Managed Services agreement with JS Computer Solutions and Software for the purposes of establishing fixed annual expenses and greater efficiency in the Town of Kindersley’s Information Technology (IT) services.

The Acting Mayor and CAO were directed to enter into an Occupancy Licence Agreement with the K-Town Skyscrapers RC Club for the continued operation of a radio controlled flying club on Town-owned property south of the Kindersley Golf Course. The agreement will permit the placement of a shipping container on the premises for storage.

Council approved an amended Procurement and Purchasing Policy, which outlines that any agreement for goods or services valued at $10,001 or more must be pre-approved by Council resolution.

Council agreed to allow Kindersley Minor Ball to sell advertising on local ball diamonds on the condition that revenue is spent solely on equipment or improvements of the ball diamonds.

Council approved the sale of Industrial Lift Station land and access purchase in the amount of $100,000 to 1011157587 Saskatchewan Ltd, in accordance with the existing Infrastructure Cost Sharing Agreement between Canalta Real Estate Services Ltd., 1011157587 Saskatchewan Ltd., and the Town of Kindersley, which outlines the requirement to obtain an easement agreement for the new lift station lands.
