Town Council held their Regular Meeting on Monday September 10, 2018. The following resolutions were made regarding bylaws, the firehall design and build project, and suicide prevention day.

After a second reading of Bylaw 10-18 being a Bylaw to Amend Bylaw No. 03-14, Town of Kindersley Official Community Plan it was read a third time and approved.

Council agreed to give a first reading to Bylaw 11-18 being a Bylaw to Amend Bylaw 04-14, the Town of Kindersley Zoning Bylaw. It was agreed that Bylaw 11-18 be brought forward to the October 9, 2018 Regular Meeting of Council after having met the legislated requirements for public notice. 

The Town of Kindersley, after having reviewed the findings of the adjudication committee, awarded Quorex Construction Services Ltd as the successful proponent for the Firehall Design and Build Project.

Council accepted as submitted, the list of accounds as paid by the Town of Kindersley in the amount of $1, 086, 319.37.

Town Council approved the Consent Agenda that included the following items: Correspondance for Acceptance and Filing (EK Pumping Report- August 2018, SaskWater Operation Report- August 2018, Government of Saskatchewan travel Allowance Rates), and Minutes from Committees Reporting to the CAO and Council (WCMGC Meeting August 23, 2018).

Mayor Rod Perkins proclaimed September 10, 2018 as Suicide Prevention Day in the Town of Kindersley. He praised the efforts of Kindersley Residents Callie, Jaclyn, and Shayln Kennedy and their work in their non-profit project “Life is Worth Living” created in memory of their sister Brianne. The organization spreads awareness and decreases the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide.
