Kindersley Town Council has reversed a decision to temporarily suspend the Kindersley Community Initiatives Program (KCIP) grant for 2018 and is now inviting community organizations to submit their applications for funding.

Applications can now be submitted to the KCIP program 2018-19 intake until Friday, June 22. Projects eligible for funding should support and encourage culture, sports, and recreation programs and activities within the municipality.

At its March 26, 2018 Regular Meeting, Council passed a resolution to direct this year’s funds to the proposed Wall of Champions project, and fireworks for Canada Day. Any remaining funding was to be applied to the grand opening ceremony of Kindersley’s new indoor aquatic facility.

That resolution was rescinded at Monday’s Council meeting, May 28, in order to alleviate any concerns that these projects would not meet criteria of the Sask Lotteries Community Grant Program, which dispenses the municipal per capita funding each year, or could compromise future grant funding to the Town.

KCIP applications can be found online at kindersley.ca/getinvolved/grants or can be picked up in person at the Kindersley Administration Office, 106 5th Avenue East.
