What Do You Need to Do?
– Keep land maintained by cutting grass, removing weeds, and cleaning up fallen leaves
– Prune trees and bushes that are overgrown (Elm trees can now be pruned until April)
– Repair fences that are hazardous or falling down
– Keep adjoining alleyway and sidewalk clear of debris, weeds, fallen leaves, and soon, snow
– Remove all garbage and waste from the property within a timely manner
– Winterize your sprinkler and watering hose system
Why?
– To provide a safe and clean environment within the community
– To prevent rodent infestation within the neighborhood
– To allow enjoyment for all members of the community
Maintenance: Safety Considerations
Some safety concerns regarding property maintenance include, but aren’t limited to:
– Bulk storage of materials may cause rodent infestation
– Obstructing sidewalks possesses a risk to walking pedestrians
– Dead or hazardous trees may cause obstruction to traffic or pedestrians, and can become a threat during heavy winds or snowfall
